Job Summary
Oversee the baggage handling operation at an airport facility, ensuring passenger assistance exceeds expectations and maintaining a friendly, positive attitude while attending to individual needs. Assist with moving luggage at check-in counters and communicate clearly with passengers by asking safety and security questions. Complete necessary incident reports and maintain professional relationships with employees, managers, airline staff, and airport authorities. This hands-on role requires physical stamina to lift up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair, with the ability to obtain an airport security badge and complete required compliance training. Weekend availability is preferred for full-time and part-time positions.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability and availability to work weekends
- Must be able to complete airline compliance training within company-given time frame
- Must be able to complete and pass the first available GSC (Ground Security Coordinator) Class
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to clear a background and drug screen
- At least (1) one year of supervisory experience
- Must be able to lift up to up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair up to 300lbs up and down inclines throughout the shift
- Strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Complete all required training including airport compliance
- Able to obtain an airport badge
- Must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly
- Must be able to move in a relatively quick manner
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision and Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Previous 1-2+ years of supervisory and customer service experience is preferred
- Airline experience preferred
