Job Summary
Independently perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, including inspections, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems. Remove, install, adjust, and service components while reading technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and MFR recommendations. Complete maintenance records, work orders, and regulatory documentation accurately, coordinating activities with Quality Control and Production teams. Assist with training and mentoring Technician I employees while maintaining tool control and workplace safety standards. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to work flexible schedules including overtime and weekends, and provision of personal maintenance tools.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain airport driving privileges
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft systems and troubleshooting methodologies
- Working knowledge of wiring diagrams, schematics, Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), and Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC)
- Understanding of repair station procedures, quality systems, and maintenance planning processes
- Familiarity with airworthiness requirements, inspection programs, and return-to-service standards
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Sufficient visual acuity, depth perception, color recognition, and hearing (with or without correction) to safely perform aircraft maintenance tasks
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and maintenance tracking systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership potential and mentoring capabilities
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from an FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS)
- 2–5 years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Prior MRO, airline, military, or aviation maintenance experience
- Documented fleet specific formal training courses such as 40-hour General Familiarization courses or ATA 104 level 1, 2, 3, or 4 courses
- Documented fleet specific engine run and taxi training and qualifications
