Job Summary
Determine flight, ground, and simulator schedule requirements for upgrade, initial qualification, requalification, transition, currency, and continuation training based on syllabus, student progression, weather, and equipment availability. Correlate sortie length and airspace requirements with syllabus mandates to build long-range and short-range schedules ensuring full coverage of aircrew, instructors, evaluators, supervisors, and support positions. Coordinate with training officers, Aviation Resource Management, the Unit Deployment Manager, and the Operations Officer to arrange schedules per DO priorities, then publish and post unit data in PEX while maintaining locally developed database systems. Perform daily updates to reflect changing conditions and training completion rates, track crewmember availability against leave and commitments, obtain aircraft data from maintenance, and facilitate last-minute schedule changes with the mission commander. Attend weekly Special Use Airspace and monthly Range Scheduling meetings for coordination and deconfliction, producing Flying Effectiveness, Flying Hour Program, and Ready Aircrew Program inputs.
Required Qualifications
- Active SECRET clearance, or a previously held SECRET clearance that expired and was not revoked
- U.S. citizenship
- Restricted Data access eligibility
- Performance is at the SECRET level
- On site at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota
- Full time employment
- Core working hours total 1,880 per year over 47 weeks, generally eight hours daily across five days
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working as a squadron aircrew scheduler
- Minimum two (2) years of experience with PEX or a similar proprietary scheduling program
