Job Summary
Amentum seeks qualified Aviation Structural Mechanic Technicians to support U.S. Navy aviation maintenance operations at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The Aircraft Worker repairs to aircraft structures (wings, fuselage) and functional components (rigging, hydraulics, pneudraulic, electrical wiring, and accessories), follows manuals and service bulletins, performs inspections (preflight, thru-flight, post-flight) and troubleshooting, uses hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment, and maintains maintenance records. The role may require security clearances, background checks, and CAC credentials; shift work and detachments are required. Preferred candidates may have specialized F/A-18 maintenance experience and related certifications. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have completed Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic Technician AM “A” School
- Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties
- Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident)
- Must be able to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks
- There is a great deal of standing, climbing, bending and stooping
- Must be able to obtain an approved status from the Contractor Verification system which includes a 7 year background check
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
- Note: US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location
- Must be able to obtain a T3 Secret Eligible Status
