Job Summary

Perform structural assembly operations, including sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts on aircraft using riveting guns, pneumatic drills, and other specialized tools. Read blueprints, lofts, and sketches to determine rivet sequences and hole patterns, then safely assemble and fit detail parts while ensuring conformance to design specifications and quality standards. Instruct team members on blueprint interpretation and develop shop aids to resolve installation difficulties. Maintain accurate logs, ensure defect-free assemblies, and coordinate shift activities through turnover reports. Work any shift, climb ladders, and operate in restricted areas while adhering to safety regulations and the 5S Lean Initiative.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 years related structural assembly experience
  • Basic computer and basic shop math skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions and read a scale
  • Essential personal skills and aptitude for hands-on craftswork
  • Professional attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with people
  • Ability to meet demanding schedules
  • Skilled in close tolerance work
  • Knowledge of use of special tools and equipment
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials
  • Ability to work any shift
