Job Summary
Structure or Sheet Metal Technician on a Canadian aerospace maintenance crew repairing and implementing structural and body enhancements to aircraft, fabricating sheet metals to replace worn body parts and flight controls, repairing/rebuilding aircraft structures (wings, fuselage) with hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment (sheet metal brake, rivet gun, drills, welding). Read and interpret manuals, service bulletins, and engineering data to determine feasibility and method of repairs, perform damage assessments, coordinate with the team lead to meet schedule, ensure work complies with Transport Canada and company standards, order parts and supplies, and apply airframe technical knowledge in a safety-conscious, team-based environment.
Required Qualifications
- Completed Structure or Sheet Metal program or equivalent
- Five (5) years of experience as a sheet metal worker
- Valid AVOP (D/A or D) and radio license
- M license considered an asset
- Knowledge of operating a welding and brazing equipment is an asset
- Read and interpret manufacturers' & airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change and flexible work shifts
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious
- Good communications and interpersonal skills in a team environment
