Aircraft Refueler

Job Summary
Safely fuel and defuel aircraft in accordance with FAA and ATA 103 standards while testing fuel components and calibrating ground equipment. Monitor bulk fuel storage for inventory and quality control, inspect fuel systems for leaks, and maintain fuel farm records. Operate ground support equipment, perform daily vehicle maintenance, and conduct ramp area inspections. Escort incoming aircraft, marshal vehicles on the flightline, and assist with baggage handling and taxiway upkeep. Respond efficiently during high-traffic operations and perform miscellaneous tasks such as hose replacements and filter changes. Weekend shifts and overtime may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current valid Arizona driver's license with a clear driving record for the past three years
- Ability to organize and plan work while adhering to deadlines
- Working knowledge of aircraft refueling techniques
- Strong attention to detail and solid mathematical skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Ability to safely drive and operate a standard shift vehicle and other applicable equipment
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level
- Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Protective equipment required: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, apron, gloves, safety harness, breathing equipment
- Must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs
- Weekend shifts may be required after training
- Overtime—both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays—may also be required
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management
- Employees shall participate in safety education programs and train to recognize hazards on the job and how to report them promptly
- As a condition of employment, each member of Ascent Aviation agrees to report errors, incidents, and accidents honestly
- An employee who observes an unsafe action or condition should bring it to the attention of supervisors and managers
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or training in aircraft refueling or airport support operations
- Experience in aircraft refueling
