Job Summary
Aircraft Parts Purchaser sourced with procurement responsibilities for aircraft parts, components, and materials to support maintenance, repair, and operations. Analyze technical specifications, prepare and issue purchase orders, obtain supplier quotations, evaluate delivery timelines, maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance, conduct quality audits, manage inventory records, reorder points, and lead times. Ensure all parts meet industry standards and regulatory requirements; coordinate shipping and receiving of parts and cores/repairs; operate within a unionized, office-based environment with 8-hour shifts, days/evenings, Monday to Friday, with on-call weekend rotations. Proficiency in procurement software, spreadsheets, and aviation databases is expected; lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional desk-based work are involved. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement; opportunities for internal training and educational support are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field an asset
- 2 years in purchasing, preferably in aviation or aerospace
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Winair (Avbase) experience preferred
- BE20, C560, PC12 and PC24 Experience an asset
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and parts specifications
- Familiarity with aviation compliance and safety standards
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- A team player with a positive attitude
- An equivalent combination of Education and Experience will be considered
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable transportation Security clearances
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Indigenous Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training considered an asset
