Job Summary
Prepare all components and airframe surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, filling, washing, and removing dents. Apply corrosive preventative treatments, primers, and finish coats of special materials in accordance with Airbus manufacturer procedures. Complete aircraft for customer acceptance through brush touch-up, cleaning striping lines, and removal of overspray. This contract role is based at the Columbus, MS manufacturing facility where UH-72A Lakota and H-125 helicopters are assembled.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years of Painting and Paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass components
- Able to read and work from blue prints and Bills of material (BOM) to ensure proper coatings are applied IAW Technical Data
- Familiarity with common aviation type tooling
- 100% Onsite
- Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings
- Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms
- Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications
- Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts
- Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs
- Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs
- Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools
- Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer
- Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving
- Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor
- Able to travel independently and at short notice
- Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces
- Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
- Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits
- appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor
