Job Summary
Paint Technician III, a senior-level aircraft painter, leads advanced preparation, masking, priming, base/top/clear coats, and finishing on corporate and commercial aircraft. The role requires expert knowledge of HVLP spray systems, paint booth operation, and inspection of finishes to FAA/OCPA/OSHA standards. Responsibilities include mentoring Paint Tech I & II, assisting with workflow planning, training new hires, documenting materials and hours, and supporting pre- and post-paint inspections with Quality Assurance. Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and paint schemes, with emphasis on quality, safety, and compliance in a fast-paced MRO environment. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts; physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and wear respirators/PPE as required.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7+ years of professional aircraft painting experience required
- Demonstrated ability to perform advanced paint processes with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of prep, masking, spraying, blending, and finishing techniques
- Experience with corporate aircraft highly preferred
- Read and interpret drawings, paint schemes, and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to wear respirators and PPE for extended periods

- Comfortable working in paint booths, lifts, scaffolds, and confined areas
- Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and alternate shifts based on project demands
