Job Summary
Intermediate-level aircraft painting professional responsible for skilled preparation, masking, spraying, and finishing tasks to support full aircraft paint projects, touch-ups, stripe layouts, and refinishing, ensuring high-quality results that meet FAA and OEM standards. Works independently on assigned tasks and supports Painter III and Lead Painters on complex projects. Responsibilities include surface preparation (sanding, masking, stripping, cleaning), masking for stripes/logos, applying primers/base coats/topcoats with HVLP equipment, blending and touch-ups under supervision, finishing inspections for defects, polishing, and maintaining safety and clean-room like conditions. Must follow safety protocols, PPE, and hazardous materials handling, and communicate material needs and progress to team. Requires ability to read basic technical drawings/paint schemes, and ability to stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced MRO environment with overtime/weekend/alternate shifts.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of aircraft painting or automotive/industrial painting experience
