Aircraft Paint Tech (SFB)

Conduct touch-up and color matching on private aircraft interiors by selecting finish ingredients, mixing paints by hand or machine, and calculating ratios for sealants and fillers. Apply primer, top coats, and spray-applied coatings to detailed parts, sub-assemblies, and major assemblies while performing complex filling, masking, and surface preparation operations. Polish and wax finished surfaces using cutting and buffing techniques on polyesters, urethanes, and acrylic clear coats. Document work performed on work orders and assist aircraft technicians as needed. Requires five years of touch-up experience, automotive refinishing background, and flexibility with shift work.
