Job Summary
Coordinate with crewmembers to assess aircraft parts and plan servicing duties, ensuring airworthiness through repairs, replacements, and rebuilds of structures like wings and fuselage. Read and interpret manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals to determine repair methods for malfunctioning components, while performing tasks such as flushing crankcases, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. May service engines and airframe components at the line station using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and rivet guns. Requires an Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License, two years of direct aircraft maintenance experience, and adherence to AR 95-20 qualifications for hazardous flight duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years direct experience in aircraft maintenance
- Military technical school with an Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License
- May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration
