Job Summary
Aircraft Mechanic - Structures who inspects, repairs, and maintains aircraft structural components, ensuring airworthiness. Responsibilities include performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on airframes, interpreting engineering drawings and repair drawings to determine repair methods, fabricating structural parts from aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and composites, inspecting for damage/corrosion, maintaining required documentation and records, and adhering to FAA procedures and safety standards. Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods (welding, riveting, cutting, drilling), blueprint/schematic reading, measurement with calipers/micrometers, and effective communication with team members.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- A&P or structures experience a plus, or repairman's certificate may substitute for A&P
- MRO experience preferred
- Generally, 2-3 years of experience in area of responsibility working on aircraft structures.
- Able to use tech data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs.
