Aircraft Mechanic - Reclamation

Job Summary
Prepare aircraft for teardown by cleaning parts, removing components, and cataloging items for reuse. Perform basic de-servicing tasks including defueling, hydraulic draining, and system deactivation while maintaining shop equipment and performing general housekeeping. Work under direct supervision to ensure safe operations and protect employees from hazards. Operate aircraft ground servicing equipment such as tugs, tractors, and forklifts, with flexibility required for 24/7 shifts, weekends, and overtime. This entry-level role supports the teardown of aircraft at the end of their service life at Ascent Aviation Services, offering a pathway to gain hands-on experience in aviation maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to organize and plan work while meeting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with basic mathematical skills
- Ability to interpret and apply technical data related to the position
- Ability to safely drive and operate a vehicle and other applicable equipment
- Ability to work effectively under supervision
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level
- Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language, including following verbal and written instructions
- Must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs
- Overtime—both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays—may also be required
- Ability to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months to one year of experience in aircraft or automotive maintenance preferred
