Job Summary

Perform repairs, maintain, and inspect aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Remove and install aircraft components, conduct functional tests of repaired systems, and adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems. Identify aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair, and perform crash recovery duties as required. Direct and/or perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Remove and replace line replaceable units (LRU) and rig if required, while becoming borescope qualified and obtaining blade blend certification. Maintain knowledge of Air Force Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) and supply procedures to order and manage parts. Requires a minimum of five years of experience repairing aircraft equipment, a mandatory advanced aircraft maintenance course, and a Jet engine AFSC certification. A SECRET CLEARANCE is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting, and using technical data
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures and the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials
  • Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations and use
  • Working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures to look up, place orders, receive and maintain parts and materials to complete assigned work
  • Completion of an advanced applicable aircraft maintenance course
  • Qualification as Aircraft Mechanic
  • A minimum of five years of performing functions, such as repairing and maintaining aircraft equipment or components
  • Held an Air Force or Sister Service Equivalent Jet engine AFSC
  • Ability to become borescope qualified
  • Blade blend certified
  • Must have working knowledge of the Air Force Maintenance Information Systems (MIS)
  • SECRET CLEARANCE

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in JEIM shop for tear down and build-up of F100-PW-100 & 220 engines
  • Additional experience in F100-PW-229, F110-GE-129E, F110-GE-100 and F110-GE-129
  • Completion of high school with courses in mathematics
