Job Summary
Aircraft Mechanic II (Fuel Cell) responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and modifying aircraft fuel systems and fuel cells. Duties include draining and purging fuel from tanks, removing/reassembling/installing components, inspecting and maintaining fuel systems, monitoring stock, using maintenance data for inspections, performing on/off-equipment maintenance, documenting discrepancies, ordering materials, and ensuring safety and compliance with FOD and safety programs. Must be able to work various shifts and travel TDY; required to obtain an FAA 8610-2 form and Airframe Certificate within one year; must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance; US citizenship required; may require flightline driver’s license; strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong working knowledge of fuel systems maintenance procedures
- Completion of fuel systems specialized courses
- Working knowledge of handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials
- Flightline driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret data
- Able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
- Possess or obtain FAA 8610-2 form
- Must possess Airframe Certificate within one year from hire date
- Effective communication abilities (verbal and written)
- US Citizenship required for security clearance
- Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather
- Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- FAA Airframe Certificate/License preferred
