Job Summary
Perform end-of-runway, preflight, and phase inspections while detecting and advising on problems with aircraft systems and removed components. Diagnose maintenance issues using technical data to troubleshoot structures, systems, and equipment, then remove, install, and operationally check components. Overhaul aircraft parts according to technical data, conduct functional tests of repaired systems, and supervise jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Maintain Red X/IPI certification and adhere to ITAR compliance and security clearance requirements. Requires FAA A&P license, five years hands-on experience, and ability to travel on TDY assignments.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must have at least 5 years hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
- Must be able to travel on TDY assignments
- Must be able to work various shifts
- Must have an in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives, aircraft/vehicle movement, flight line operations, aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications (read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematics, diagrams, drawings and technical orders)
- Must have a working knowledge of computers
- Must meet ITAR compliance requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility, team orientation, ability and willingness to learn
- Effective Communication Skills
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands
- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
- Background Check required
- Drug Screening Required
- Security clearance may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Fighter Jet Experience preferred
- FAA A&P license preferred
- Obtain/maintain aircraft/equipment Red X/IPI certification
