Job Summary
Aircraft Mechanic responsible for operating, testing, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting all aircraft systems. Proficiently operate and understand test equipment and tooling. Interpret technical manuals and engineering data to support tasks. Perform system and function checkouts (static checks, hydraulic function checks, flight control rigging, fuel system checks, oxygen, etc.) per approved maintenance procedures or FAA requirements. Remove and replace components per procedures or FAA requirements. Ensure meticulous inspection and function testing of all parts. Complete assigned work including troubleshooting and repairs of malfunctioning systems safely under OSHA guidelines and company procedures, within schedule. Log work orders and attendance in Labor Data Collection System. Must have High School diploma or GED and either A&P certificate with 2 years of experience or 4 years of experience without A&P. Proficiency with hand tools and precision equipment, ability to read aircraft diagrams and schematics, ability to work on maintenance stands, lifts, ladders, in confined spaces, and lift at least 50lbs. Must not be allergic to jet fuel, oils, hydraulic fluids or cleaning solvents.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate with 2 years of experience or no A&P with 4 years of experience as an aircraft mechanic.
- Proficient with using hand tools and precision equipment.
- Able to read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures.
- Able to lift minimum 50lbs and able to enter and exit the aircraft using steps and/or stairs.
- Must not be allergic to jet fuel, oils, hydraulic fluids or cleaning solvents.
