Job Summary

Aircraft Mechanic – CBP responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft structures and systems (airframe and power plant), performing inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting, and fault isolation. Must use manuals/blueprints and may lead more complex tasks and entry logging; must supply personal hand tools while using company-furnished test equipment and adhere to safety, documentation, and federal procedures. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and an A&P certificate, with strong knowledge of hydraulics, fuel systems, engines, sheet-metal modification/repair, and ability to communicate in English and use Office software. Physical ability to perform duties, stand/squat/walk, and lift up to 50 lbs; will work in flight line/hangar environments with potential noise hazards.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance
  • US Citizenship required to obtain clearance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A&P certificate (airframe and power plant)
  • Competent in repairing/maintaining airframes, hydraulics, fuel systems, and aircraft engines
  • Knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair
  • Knowledge of military/general aviation aircraft airframe and engine logbooks
  • Knowledge of electrical theory
  • Knowledge of aircraft tools and test equipment
  • Knowledge of technical publications
  • Ability to follow procedures for handling hazardous waste materials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
