Aviation Maintenance Technician Assistant provides hands-on support in a Part 145 MRO environment in Miami, FL by assisting certified mechanics and technicians with inspections, repairs, shop operations, and material handling. The role emphasizes learning aviation maintenance practices, FAA repair station operations, and aircraft maintenance workflow, with responsibilities including cleaning, preparation, disassembly/assembly, parts handling, inventory support, shipping/receiving, and maintaining clean, safe work areas while following FAA, OSHA, and company safety procedures. The position requires strong teamwork, dependability, and a proactive attitude toward learning and supporting maintenance operations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must be authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Enrollment in or completion of an aviation maintenance training program preferred
  • Strong willingness to learn aviation maintenance practices
  • Ability to safely utilize basic hand tools and shop equipment
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Conversational Spanish proficiency preferred
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, or crawl in a maintenance environment
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical work in a shop or hangar environment
  • Ability to successfully pass FAA/DOT-required drug and alcohol screening requirements for safety-sensitive positions
