Job Summary
Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic) delivers FAA Part 147-aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and hands-on instruction in classroom and active hangar environments. Teaches hands-on aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques; prepares students for A&P certification; translates military or civilian maintenance experience into classroom instruction; mentors students and supports curriculum updates while maintaining records of attendance, grades, and student progress. Schedule options include Daytime (Mon–Thu 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; Fri off) or Evening (Mon–Thu 1:30 PM–11:30 PM; Fri off). No teaching experience required; 5-day paid instructor training program provided. Requires High School Diploma or GED; FAA A&P certification; minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience. Location: Chicago campus; relocation available for qualified candidates; sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for hires by 7/1/2026. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Licensure: FAA Airframe AND/OR Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate required
- Skills: Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures
- Mentoring/Coaching: Interest in mentoring, coaching, and developing others
- Technical: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
