Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Structures)

Job Summary

Inspect, dismantle, and reassemble aircraft structures while repairing or replacing components of frames using metal and carbon-fibre composites. Conduct routine pre-flight inspections of aircraft frames, perform fault diagnosis on components and systems, and carry out flight-line handling duties. Remove and install aircraft components, prepare ground equipment, and maintain records in accordance with aviation maintenance standards. Liaise with clients where required to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and within deadlines. Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety procedures and exercise sound judgment when unsure.

Required Qualifications

  • AQF Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical or Structural Trade)
  • AQF Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) (AME qualification)
  • equivalent qualification

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of hangar-based aircraft maintenance
  • At least two years of experience
  • Ability to work to tight schedules and maintenance deadlines
  • Experience working with metal and composite (carbon fibre) structures and materials
  • Interest in aircraft mechanics, modification, fabrication, and general aviation
  • Customer service focus: Provides high-quality service across all channels written, verbal, and face-to-face
  • Communication: Able to convey technical information clearly and adapt style to audience
  • Attention to detail: Maintains precision and accuracy in maintenance, reporting, and documentation
  • Commercial awareness: Applies practical knowledge efficiently within a commercial environment
  • Teamwork: Collaborates effectively to achieve operational goals
  • Time management: Organises and prioritises tasks to meet maintenance deadlines

Desired Qualifications
