Job Summary

Inspect, repair, test, and troubleshoot aircraft egress, canopy fracturing systems, and emergency oxygen components. Perform canopy rigging and fitting of drive and locking systems, including removal and replacement of time change components, seats, and canopies. Operate ground support equipment and enter data into computerized maintenance record systems while maintaining constant awareness of egress system safety. Assist the Egress Shop Leadman in team concept maintenance and complete necessary form maintenance. Requires a valid REAL ID driver's license, site access, and completion of the Aircrew Egress Systems Apprentice Course. Hourly rate of $46.83.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license with REAL ID within 30 days of employment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain site access
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Experience in functions such as removing, inspecting, installing, repairing, and modifying aircrew egress systems and components
  • Experience performing or supervising functions involved in maintaining and inspecting egress systems and subsystems
  • Must have successfully completed the Air Force "Aircrew Egress Systems Apprentice Course" or intra-service equivalent (DD 214 or employment record)
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements for this position as stipulated in Appendix E of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
