Job Summary
The Composite Technician repairs, fabricates, and assembles aircraft components from fiberglass, carbon fiber, and other composites in accordance with manufacturer manuals and FAA data. Responsibilities include lay-up, vacuum bagging, curing, trimming, finishing, bonding materials, damage assessments, and structural repairs on flight controls, nacelles, cowlings, and fairings. Works with Quality Control and Engineering teams to ensure airworthiness and follows safety/environmental protocols; requires interpreting blueprints/technical drawings and using hand/power tools and precision measuring equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft composite repair and fabrication (Part 145 repair station experience preferred)
- Knowledge of composite repair techniques, materials, and curing processes
- Familiarity with OEM manuals (Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, etc.) and FAA repair procedures
- Ability to interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Must be able to work in hangar and shop environments, occasionally on or around aircraft
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be authorized to work in the USA
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in varying temperature environments
- Must be comfortable working with resins, solvents, and other chemical agents using appropriate PPE
