Job Summary
Senior Structural Aircraft Technician leads and performs repair/overhaul of internal and external aircraft structures in an MRO environment, interpreting SRM/AMM, directing complex repairs, and mentoring technicians. Responsibilities include overseeing repairs to mech and elec assemblies, conducting functional tests with required equipment, inspecting parts for conformity, removing/installing components including flight controls and secondary structures, applying repair techniques (including soldering and protective coatings), measuring with precision tools, maintaining FAA Repair Station paperwork, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations. The role requires advanced structural knowledge, leadership, coordination with engineering and quality, and a focus on first-time quality, process improvement, and on-time delivery. Education and experience include a High School Diploma or GED, likely A&P/FCC/NCATT certifications preferred, reading blueprints and engineering docs, and 6 years of related experience in sheetmetal/hydraulic overhaul or avionics/electrical repair, with APU maintenance responsibilities across Gulfstream aircraft models. Travel up to 25%; full-time employment. The position emphasizes independent leadership, technical guidance, and training of other Acft Component Repair Techs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- A&P license, FCC license, or NCATT cert preferred
- Ability to read & interpret blueprints, eng docs, CMP data, CBs and ASCs
- 6 years experience in Sheetmetal and/or hydraulic overhaul or related exp
- Avionics/elect compo repair, electronics and elec systems knowledge preferred
- APU removal, install, and service
