Job Summary
Fabricates complex high-quality furniture and wood-surfaced subassemblies for aircraft installation using stationary and hand-held tools. Interprets material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with design samples and customer requirements. Utilizes a variety of woodworking techniques and material tracking systems to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work. Champions safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies while conducting safety audits and assisting team members. Oversees projects, delegates tasks, and mentors co-workers to develop and implement process improvements using Lean Six-Sigma to reduce cost and cycle time. Adapts to sudden schedule changes and performs duties as assigned. Requires four years of cabinetmaking experience, ability to climb ladders and lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 years of experience in cabinetmaking
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Able to climb ladders and stairs
- Able to work in small restricted areas
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Able to work any shift
- Must be computer literate
- Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace industry
- Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications
