Job Summary
Read blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine part layouts and assembly sequences. Assemble, install, and connect aircraft parts, fittings, and assemblies using hand and power tools to install fasteners. Inspect and test installed units for fit, alignment, performance, and compliance with requirements. Perform specialized duties such as aircraft electrical work, plumbing, advanced fabrication, rigging flight controls, and installing class one fasteners. Assist with significant structures including bulkheads, fuselage panels, rudders, and elevators. Requires minimum two years of General Aviation manufacturing experience, a passing Department of Labor competency test, and advanced hand tool proficiency. Includes lodging, perdiem, and tools supplied by the customer.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience and acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of General Aviation manufacturing and/or maintenance
- Must receive a passing grade on the Department of Labor competency test
- Advanced abilities with hand and power tools used in manufacturing and/or maintaining aluminum aircraft
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Internet Explorer
- Able to read and interpret aircraft parts and assembly drawings
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have close vision
- Must have distance vision
- Must have color vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds
- Must be able to use both hands to rivet and buck
- Must be able to occasionally work on the aircraft with a harness
