Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning and heat pump systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites while diagnosing faults using gauges and thermometers. Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration schematics to complete work safely in line with Australian standards. Explain faults and service costs clearly to customers, identify out-of-scope work requiring variation, and maintain accurate job records using field-based software. Collaborate with other technicians and trades on project installations, organize materials through preferred suppliers, and support apprentices in developing their trade skills.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
- A current Refrigerant Handling Licence
- A current Australian driver's licence
- Strong installation, servicing and fault-finding skills
- A sound understanding of refrigeration, electrical and safety standards
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach with customers
- The ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Pride in delivering reliable, high-quality workmanship
- Confidence using digital job-management tools, or the willingness to learn
- A current Police Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them
- Work across Maitland, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley
