Job Summary
The Certified Air Traffic Control (ATC) Instructor II position requires delivering high-quality classroom and lab training to developmental and certified professional controllers. Candidates must demonstrate excellent teaching skills, classroom management, strong technical skills with ATC systems, and have the ability to mentor students and instructors. The role includes curriculum design and the necessity to interface with FAA personnel to ensure training quality. Candidates must have recent ATC experience, instructor experience, and be OJTI certified.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years recent experience as a Certified Professional Controller in an FAA air traffic control facility
- Instructor experience in classroom and simulator laboratory
- Prior (or current) On-the-Job Training Instructor (OJTI) certification with at least 3+ years’ experience
Desired Qualifications
- Curriculum design and development experience
- Operational experience with ATC simulators including scenario design and pseudo/remote pilot operations
Additional Requirements
- Instructor II trainees must be classroom certified by Facility Technical Liaison (FTL) within 60 calendar days after reporting for duty.
- Certified Instructor II trainees must be laboratory certified within the first 120 calendar days of reporting for duty.
