Job Summary
The Air Technician is responsible for cleaning, calibrating, and repairing gas monitoring systems and breathing equipment. Key duties include inspection and maintenance of breathing air regulators, completing documentation related to inspections, and performing system functional tests. Candidates need at least one year of relevant field experience, a valid driver's license, and knowledge of regulatory standards. Additional skills include troubleshooting electronic safety equipment and pressure equipment operation. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and an ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
- Safe driving record and insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance
- Class C driver’s license with DOT hazardous endorsement if required by facility
- Knowledge of regulatory standards pertaining to assigned responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience preferred
- Must pass internal forklift certification as required
- Ability to study for and pass basic license requirements within six months of employment
- Have or obtain applicable State Fire Marshal Licenses (if required by State) within 6 months of hire date
- Must have ICC/NAFED certification
- Demonstrated ability to operate electronic safety equipment
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to travel to customers' sites and available for travel for short and long-term out-of-town and/or offshore projects
