Air Quality Field Team Analyst

Job Summary

Conduct on-site testing, calibration, and documentation of air quality measuring instrumentation across Scotland and the wider UK. Review and ratify air pollution measurements using in-house software systems to strict UK Law and European Directives, ensuring data accuracy for publication on Defra and Scottish Air Quality websites. Perform data processing and reporting while managing significant travel, including extended trips and overnight stays. Maintain awareness of site safety and equipment handling during field operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Solid driving experience
  • Ability to drive a company van
  • Awareness of site safety issues
  • The ability to conduct research, gather and analyse data accurately and methodically
  • IT literacy
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and team working skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Self-reliance and good problem solving skills
  • Significant travel
  • Several weeks per quarter of extended trips away from the office
  • Up to 4 overnight stays per week
  • Physical requirements to this role: either through travel or lifting and unloading of equipment
  • Ability to load and unload monitoring and testing equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • A degree in Physical Sciences or Engineering
  • Initial understanding of current air pollution problems
  • Understanding of legislation aimed to address air pollution issues
