Job Summary
The Summer Camp Aide supports the Summer Camp Director and Assistant Director in creating a safe, faith-filled, and engaging summer experience for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Aides help lead daily activities, supervise campers, and contribute to a positive, energetic environment that reflects the mission of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Responsibilities include assisting with daily camp programming and activity execution, leading or supporting small groups of campers during games, crafts, enrichment activities, and free play, actively engaging with campers, helping prepare, set up, and clean up activities and common areas, supervising campers to ensure safety, communicating concerns to leadership, assisting with transitions between activities, meals, outdoor play, and field trips, maintaining attendance records and camper check-in/check-out procedures, responding to minor incidents and reporting injuries or emergencies, serving as a positive role model with kindness and teamwork, and promoting a respectful environment aligned with the mission and values of St. Joseph Manchester and the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children preferred, including camp, babysitting, volunteering, childcare, education, or youth ministry.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- Completion of and ongoing compliance with the Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment Program, including Protecting God’s Children training and required background screening (age-dependent).
