Job Summary
Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, adapting classroom instruction to support student objectives, and maintaining order and discipline in the special education classroom. Prepare and maintain records and reports required by Federal, State, or local laws and regulations. Support individual and small group instruction while participating in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned. Work 187 days per year at a pay grade of 2 with a minimum wage of $22,066. Obtain the Educational Aide II certificate and hold a high school diploma or equivalent coursework.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma from an accredited institution
- 48 hours of college coursework from an accredited college or university
- Pass Spring Independent School District's NCLB test in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics
- Educational Aide II Certificate
- willingness to obtain Educational Aide II Certificate
