Job Summary
Assist teachers in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements while working under supervision of a certified teacher. Provide daily support for early childhood special education students, utilizing a valid Texas educational aide certificate or willingness to obtain one. Maintain classroom organization and facilitate learning environments for children with special needs. Requires a high school diploma or GED, some experience working with children, and the ability to communicate effectively. This 187-day term role is part of the SE ECSE program.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- SSA Criteria (2 years of study at an institution of higher education; an Associate degree or higher; or can pass a formal academic paraprofessional assessment)
- Some experience working with children
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
