Job Summary
Bridge communication between schools and home by conferring with district personnel, social workers, counselors, and administrators to interpret school procedures and link parents to resources. Maintain communication logs documenting contacts with parents, students, and staff while serving as the primary contact for questions regarding school services, activities, and events. Facilitate parental activities with feeder schools and community organizations to cultivate interest and advocacy, assisting families in accessing educational resources and attending special events. Develop rapport with students, parents, and administration to promote proper adjustment and progress.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education, child care, or related field preferred
- Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Writes simple correspondence
- Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Adds and subtracts two digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s
- Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Applies understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
