Job Summary
Provide direct instruction to students as assigned by the teacher and work with individual students and small groups. Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, administering assessments, and maintaining a neat learning environment. Supervise students throughout the day, before and after school, and during field trips, while keeping the teacher informed of special needs. Participate in professional learning activities, staff meetings, and parent involvement events. Maintain strict confidentiality of student information and present a positive role model supporting the district's mission. Work under the direct supervision of the teacher(s) with a valid Texas educational aide certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree, two years of study (48 college hours) at an institute of higher learning, or meet formal academic assessment
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to assist with classroom instruction
- Ability to work well with children
- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with children
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to speak and write Spanish, preferred
