Job Summary
Aide provides instructional support to Emergent Multilingual learners under a teacher/administrator; assists students with language development, translations as needed, and using computer programs; supervises and helps maintain classroom order; coordinates with teachers, translates letters/forms for parents, administers language placement tests and state assessments (ELPAC, SBAC), orients new students to school policies and supports student academic development; requires bilingual Spanish skills, ability to work with teenagers, and basic clerical/computer abilities; work year includes 206 days with 6 hours per day at Prospect High School in Campbell Union High School District.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years college
- Experience working with teenagers is preferred
- Ability to speak and write fluently in Spanish or another language
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Ability to type and operate basic office equipment
- Ability to work with students in various settings to reinforce learning of material and skills initially introduced by the teacher
- Ability to perform clerical duties such as filing, duplicating, maintaining routine records, operate basic office equipment, and utilize basic computer skills
