Aide - In-School Suspension (ISS)

Job Summary
Aide responsible for supervising students in the ISS program, maintaining attendance/records, administering tests and tutoring as needed, overseeing character education activities, and enforcing a strictly controlled learning environment. Requires maintaining confidentiality of student involvement, coordinating with teachers to obtain and deliver assignments, attending faculty/in-service meetings, and performing related duties. Works with a personal computer and office equipment; ability to manage stress and maintain emotional control in challenging situations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- College hours: 48 minimum or score of 464 on the ParaPro test
- College hours, high school diploma or GED for Non-Title I campus
- Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills
- Ability to maintain strict discipline
- Maintain an effective working environment
- Communicate and work with students
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in working with students
