Job Summary
Collaborate with core content-area teachers and special education teachers to ensure emergent bilingual students' linguistic and academic needs are met. Facilitate targeted small group instruction based on language proficiency levels and individual student needs. Administer oral and written tests to EB students as needed, including serving on a rotational basis at the EL Testing Center. Understand and implement the state and district's ESL program model in alignment with policies, rules, and regulations regarding EBs. Maintain student confidentiality and participate in professional learning activities for content-based language instruction and research-based practices. Work within deadlines while managing a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
- College hours, high school diploma or GED required for Non-Title I campus
- Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed
- Ability to work with students and staff
- Ability to manage a flexible schedule
- Ability to work within deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- School experience or volunteer experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills
