Job Summary
Assist school staff in the care and management of students with disabilities while at school under the direction and supervision of an immediate supervisor. Provide for the care, well-being, and supervision of students with disabilities, including assisting with personal hygiene needs such as toileting, diapering, and dressing as directed by the teacher. Implement classroom and individual behavior management systems and adhere to daily schedules and assignments. Adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands while maintaining safety and security procedures. Perform any other duties as assigned to support the district's vision and strategic plan.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education, child care, or related field preferred
- Reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Writes simple correspondence
- Effectively presents information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Adds and subtracts two-digit numbers and multiplies and divides with 10s and 100s
- Performs these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Applies understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
