Job Summary
The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher or Kinergarten e aide shall have the responsibilities and duties as outlined in the Putnam County Schools Job Description, supporting the instructional program for 1st–3rd grade under the regular classroom teacher; requires a high school diploma or GED, Aide classification, CPR/First Aid; training to complete ECCAT coursework and science of reading/numeracy; schedule is 200 days, 7:00 am–3:00 pm at Eastbrook Elementary School, Winfield, WV; employment date August 17, 2026; duties align with PK–Grade 3 endorsement timeline.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a high school diploma or GED.
- Holds “Aide” classification.
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
- Holds valid CPR and first aid cards.
- To qualify for the Early Childhood Assistant Teacher classification, agree to complete a Temporary or Permanent Authorization endorsed for Early Childhood Assistant Teacher.
- Newly hired ECCATs will complete the current ECCAT coursework in conjunction with additional coursework/training in the science of reading, numeracy, and appropriate measures for exercising authority and control over students within three calendar years of the hiring date (Four Courses).
