Job Summary
Supports instructional program as an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher (Aide) for 1st–3rdGrade at Teays Valley, WV. Performs tasks assigned by the regular classroom teacher. Requires a high school diploma or GED and an Aide classification; CPR and First Aid cards required. Must agree to completing required ECCAT endorsements and related coursework (two Courses within two years if already in ECCAT track, or four Courses within three years for new hires) to obtain PK–Grade 3 endorsement. Employment is 200 days with a 6:50 am–2:50 pm schedule. Benefits package includes PEIA insurance, retirement, life, vision, and dental. Training includes science of reading and numeracy components and additional required coursework within specified timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a high school diploma or GED
- Holds “Aide” classification
- Possesses CPR and first aid cards
- Must agree to complete a Temporary or Permanent Authorization endorsed for Early Childhood Assistant Teacher
- Must agree to complete the Third Grade Success Act requirements for providing additional support personnel in grades 1–3 classrooms (Two Courses within two calendar years or four Courses within three calendar years, depending on current role)
- Length of employment: 200 days
- Daily schedule: 6:50 am - 2:50 pm
