Job Summary
Aide, Bilingual Spanish assists English Language Learners under the supervision of the Supervisor for Programs for English Language Learners and district personnel. Responsibilities include supporting compliance monitoring for FTE/FLDOE/USDOE, providing comprehensible instruction to English language learners, translating basic home/school communications, assisting in administering tests, working with small groups, maintaining program records, and supporting the Parent Leadership Council and District Advisory Council. Requires fluency in English and a heritage language, ability to adapt to changes, cooperate with staff, and meet attendance and punctuality guidelines. District policy emphasizes equal opportunity and veteran preferences for selection.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education, child care, or related field
- Must be considered highly qualified per the United States Department of Education and Florida’s Differentiated Accountability Model: either (a) an associate’s degree or higher (Q-NCLB-A), (b) completed 60 semester hours or two years of study at an institution of higher education (Q-NCLB-B), or (c) passed the ParaPro Test with a score of 457 or higher (Q-NCLB-C)
