Job Summary

Monitor FTE, FLDOE, and USDOE program compliance while assisting with comprehensible instruction for English language learners, parent involvement, and community outreach. Administer individual and group student tests in heritage language or English under teacher supervision, and work with small groups implementing teacher-developed lesson plans. Maintain required program records, translate home/school communications, and acquaint parents with available services. Establish the Parent Leadership Council and District Advisory Council with school and district personnel. Perform any other duties as assigned. Split 60/40 time between Progress Middle and Eisenhower MS.

Required Qualifications

  • One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education, child care, or related field
  • Must be considered highly qualified per the United States Department of Education and Florida's Differentiated Accountability Model
  • An associate's degree or higher
  • Completed 60 semester hours or two years of study at an institution of higher education
  • Passed the ParaPro Test with a score of 457 or higher
  • Required to be fluent in English and the appropriate heritage language
  • Demonstrate mastery in the areas of oral language, reading, and writing skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Must be available for standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing
  • Must be able to reach both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead
