Job Summary
Aide, Bilingual Spanish supports English Language Learners (ELLs) under district and school supervision; assists with program compliance monitoring (FTE, FLDOE, USDOE), provides comprehensible instruction in heritage language/English, assists with parent involvement and community outreach, translates basic home/school communication, and supports the Parent Leadership Council (PLC) and District Advisory Council (DAC); duties include administering tests, small-group instruction under teacher supervision, and maintaining program records.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year of increasingly responsible experience in education, child care, or related field
- Must be considered highly qualified per the United States Department of Education and Florida’s Differentiated Accountability Model
- To be Highly Qualified Instructional Paraprofessionals (Support Staff), must meet one of the following criteria: An associate’s degree or higher – Q-NCLB-A, completed 60 semester hours or two years of study at an institution of higher education- Q-NCLB-B, or passed the ParaPro Test with a score of 457 or higher – Q-NCLB-C
