Job Summary
Assist the teacher in the academic and life skills development of students with disabilities and aid in classroom activities. Responsibilities include supporting teachers with instructional duties, monitoring student behavior, supervising small groups in community settings, and administering personal services to students with severe physical handicaps. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with patience, tolerance, and the ability to work well with children. The role requires participation in drills and safety exercises, maintaining professional communication, and contributing to the positive climate of the school.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Educational Aide II Certification
- 15 college hours or passing score on Paraprofessional Exam
- Verifiable experience working with children
