AI Strategy & Automation Lead (m/w/d)

Job Summary
Single-person role guiding AI strategy and automation at benuta, reporting directly to the COO/CEO with full ownership of outcomes. Identify and prioritize AI/automation use-cases across functions (product development, design, category management, procurement, sales, customer service, logistics, and leadership) and build a portfolio aligned with business impact and feasibility. Define and track KPI targets, shape quarterly roadmaps, and implement solutions using premier AI platforms (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini) and workflow tools (n8n, Make, Zapier). Drive governance, data classification, GDPR/compliance, and IP protection in collaboration with IT and management. Train and empower teams, establish an internal AI champion network, and ensure broad adoption across departments. Collaborate with Head of Platform Engineering for integrations where needed. Strong stakeholder management at C-level and across departments, with German fluency (negotiation level) and English proficiency. Bonn location with home-office opportunities; direct line to COO and opportunities to influence the business over the next five years.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years professional experience with generative AI and LLM-based solutions in a corporate context
- experience in ecommerce (D2C or mid-market) and understanding of AI value in ecommerce
- expertise with leading AI platforms (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini)
- strong skills in prompt engineering, agentive workflows, and RAG patterns
- familiarity with workflow-tools like n8n, Make or Zapier
- basic API knowledge
- strong ROI mindset and entrepreneurial outlook
- ability to communicate with C-Level and staff at various levels in German (negotiation level) and English
