Job Summary
Connect internal databases, content systems, and business tools to LLMs to create useful, repeatable workflows and automate manual processes like metadata population and research synthesis. Build and maintain agent-based workflows, write production prompts for editorial, sales, and operations use cases, and stand up integrations between AI platforms and existing tools without engineering support. Support enablement efforts by training teams on new AI tools, creating documentation, and providing hands-on technical support for workflow adaptation. Manage the company's AI tool stack, monitor usage and costs, and facilitate the rollout of new tools. This hands-on role requires connecting APIs and building lightweight integrations to ship solutions quickly across a wide range of use cases.
Required Qualifications
- Deep, practical familiarity with LLMs and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar). You should be someone who builds with these tools daily
- Experience working in a news organization, preferably in a newsroom, with a deep understanding of editorial workflows, standards, and practices
- Must be able to recognize what makes a strong piece of editorial content and hold your own output to newsroom standards, so the work you ship to newsrooms is usable without rounds of editorial rework
- Ability to connect APIs, work with databases, and build lightweight integrations
- Experience writing production prompts and building agent workflows (e.g., using tools like LangChain, custom GPTs, Claude projects, or similar)
- Strong communication skills and the patience to work with people across a wide range of technical comfort levels
- Bias toward action. This is a new function and you will need to figure things out as you go
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment
- This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a newsroom or media organization
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (Arc XP, WordPress)
- Python, JavaScript, or SQL proficiency
- Experience with vector databases, RAG architectures, or similar retrieval patterns
- Understanding of editorial workflows, content publishing, and audience development
