Job Summary
Conceive, develop, and integrate AI solutions into space systems for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and autonomous orbit decisions. Design, implement, and verify flight, simulation, and test software for embedded real-time systems while improving development processes through AI-driven CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Define software, system, and AI requirements in coordination with system engineers, hardware developers, and data scientists. Manage SW/HW system operations on development hardware, integrate AI models into embedded environments, and perform fault analysis in complex settings. Maintain technical documentation and actively contribute to agile processes including Daily Scrums and Sprint Reviews. Ensure adherence to process standards such as ECSS and NewSpace while estimating work packages. Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields with expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Embedded Real-Time systems using C. Proficiency in RTOS (VxWorks, RTEMS), SpaceWire protocols, and Linux environments is essential. Strong German and English language skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium (Master/Diplom) in Informatik, Software Engineering, Elektrotechnik, Nachrichtentechnik, Physik oder verwandten Bereichen mit Fokus auf AI/Machine Learning
- Fundierte Kenntnisse in Machine Learning, Deep Learning und deren Anwendung auf Embedded Systems (z. B. TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, TinyML, Computer Vision für Space Applications)
- Mehjährige Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von Embedded Real-Time Systemen mit C sowie Erfahrung mit RTOS wie VxWorks, RTEMS oder Embedded Linux
- Fundierte Kenntnisse in HW-orientierter Schnittstellenprogrammierung und Protokollen wie SpaceWire, MILBUS, CAN, PUS oder TCP/IP
- Sicherer Umgang mit UNIX/Linux Entwicklungsumgebungen, Versionskontrolle (Git, SVN), Software Configuration Management (SCM) sowie AI-Frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
